Modern houses in Richmond, quite a lot of this cheek-by-jowl with nineteenth-century terraces and weatherboards, some really good and some a bit average, this isn't my favourite but it looked good in the sun.

Art Deco 'Davis Relova Laundry' , building designed by Walter Mason, apparently it was converted to apartments several years ago, more here. Facade is looking a bit shabby
The terrace houses on York St all look as if they are part of a very fine, integrated streetscape. I realise people want bigger and more modern, but once the first original house comes down, the rest will surely follow.
ReplyDeleteRichmond streets are always good to walk. My grandfather lived there in some now demolished place. Funny, it was demolished to build factories, which are now being demolished to build housing.
