Views of Melbourne contemporary architecture

This is a bit cheesy and a few years old judging from some views where you can see the QV complex still under construction, but it is always interesting to hear an outsider's take on Melbourne architecture.

  1. I don't mind that film clip at all and agreed with quite a lot of what he said. But one omission grabbed my attention. If Melbourne is at heart a Victorian gold-rush city that is modernising rapidly, what of the gorgeous architectural heritage should be kept and what should be bull dozed for more modern replacements?

  2. Sells Melbourne well enough but there is an awful lot more to the city, as we all know. I did not know about the Adelphi Hotel pool.

I guess this clip is a superficial gloss over before all else. It would be an over inflated expectation to expect a critical analysis our architectural heritage, a heritage which is slowly being degraded thanks to the commercial interests of a few, coupled with the indifference and incompetence of our elected officials and bureaucratic planners.
